A high tier squad can solve threats and finish combat without a scratch without perfect one while a low tier squad could suffer unavoidable loses even with perfect one. For example the jet mech is s tier in the rusting hulks but low a tier or high b tier in a custom squad. Trying to accomplish 4 7 different tasks in one turn is very difficult. Ive seen this vaguely alluded to elsewhere but my general strategy for into the breach is all about creating turns. Passive equipment can be used by any class mech. Rather than parrot the same sentiments from my review though what id like to share with you now is my personal tier list for every playable squad in the game as well as a few tips for using them on hard difficulty. Mar 3 2018 at 459am oh damn i didnt see. I would want it in most custom squads. Mechs can carry two items which can be divided into mech weapons support weapons and passive equipment. Since ftl is a game of rng you want to minimize any variance as much as possible. Makes the flam behemoth squad even though it has very little fire synergy. The one exception in amazing tier would be the pike beam and thats because its fairly easy to get something to break through shields and the trade off is immense. The squads in into the breach can be considered as the second layer of difficulty. I first thought that hazardous is trash tier too. Theres already a tier list thread where everyone else is posting. After 100 hours of gameplay and a 100 completion rating to go with it its clear that into the breach has become my favourite video game of 2018. General strategy and a couple notes about hard mode the most brutal spawns and turn 1s in hard mode can involve up to four alphas with 4 5hp and 2 3 more spawn points incoming. The weapons at the top of the list are consistently effective in almost any ship set up. Aside from simply being a pretty good 2 damage artillery as a weapon its ability to place a boulder if it doesnt land on an enemy can be used for a lot of things such as blocking enemies you cant kill or displace. Support weapons can be used by any class. Note that all weapons have friendly fire on unless an exception is mentioned so if you dont plan properly you can damage your own mechs. S tier amazing in their own squad or any other swap mech seriously my favorite mech in the game.
